NiP beat LDLC to win EMS Cup #3

Ninjas in Pyjamas won the third cup of RaidCall EMS One Summer following a 2-0 victory over LDLC.com in the grand final (16-7 on de_nuke_se, 16-6 on de_mirage_go).

The second day of this EMS One Cup started out with two mouth-watering semi-final clashes taking place, including what has certainly become a classic in the game, as Ninjas in Pyjamas took on VeryGames.

The French side have struggled in recent times as Richard "shoxie" Papillon is settling in, and despite giving a good account of themselves earlier in the tournament, with victories against Virtus.pro and Absolute Legends, they fell short against NiP, losing the match with a 21-18 scoreline.

On the other half of the bracket, LDLC.com, fresh off defeating VeryGames in the MFJV #2 final, were made to work hard to beat Natus Vincere, who are done playing with Denis "seized" Kostin as a stand-in, disposing of the Ukrainians only in overtime (21-18).

The grand final ended up being a little bit less entertaining, though, as NiP were the dominant side for most of the game. But on de_nuke_se, it was actually LDLC.com who started out the brighter, winning the opening two rounds of the game. NiP responded right after and levelled the game on two rounds, but LDLC - who were playing on the CT side - broke the Swedes' momentum and took the scoreline to 6-2.

When everyone was expecting LDLC to further stamp their authority on the game, NiP picked themselves up and controlled the tempo for the remainder of the first half, going into the break up 8-7.

If things were looking bad for the Frenchmen, they got even worse in the second half, as NiP won the pistol round to enlarge their lead. As Terrorists, LDLC could do nothing to bother the Swedish team, who comfortably ran out 16-7 victors to take the lead in the game.

On de_mirage_go, it was NiP's time to claim bragging rights first, as the Swedish team strolled to an early 3-0 lead after comfortably stopping LDLC's rush onto the A site in the pistol round.

LDLC then reduced the deficit to 3-2, but NiP regained control of the match immediately after and went on to pick up a commanding 10-5 lead at the break. Without too much surprise, the ESWC champions came out strongly in the second half and conceded just one round on the Terrorist side as they posted a 16-6 success that puts them at the top of the RaidCall EMS One rankings.
